It's so easy to think you have nothing more to learn until you actually start taking a class and you are reminded again of how stupid you are! The plain truth is that we should, ideally, always continue our training, much like an athlete. Im taking a 7 week class that focuses on performing Shakespeare via interpretation of the 1st folio.
The most brilliant thing about this, is that I am now truly in love with the first Folio edition and probably will always turn to it First. It is the quintessential performers script, filled with incredible clues and brilliantly crafted by the writer that we coin as Shakespeare. It reall is also amazing to consider how many plays and the methods tey used , "back in the Day" in performance. The class is great, we are on our feet all the time and immediately started doing scene and monologue work., on your feet. In short I'm having a Blast and finding this class at the American Globe quite satisfying.
